I ship foeyay.

Which of course gets some fans going "Buh, they hate each other, don't they? Why are you shipping them?"

Because at every rivalry is a sick twisted obsession. Holmes/Moriarty. Dr. Horrible/Captain Hammer. The list goes on. But to the fans who "But they hate each other", they assume that because that if you ship them, that you must ship them the way everyone else does for every pairing ever, all lovey-dovey, gooey-sweet.

Clearly they've never heard of hate sex or the fact that just because you have sex with someone doesn't mean you love that person.

Just because a character has sex with another character doesn't mean they love that character and are now going to marry them. It just means they had sex with them.

I'm tired of that being used against me and others.

"But they hate each other, why are they having sex."

They didn't say "I love you." They aren't picking out china and I'm pretty sure the bad guy isn't stopping his life of crime and they still hate each other.

They just had sex.

Sex is an action. Love is an emotion or to be more specific, a chemical reaction. They're not the same. It is possible to bang someone and never love them, just as it is possible to love someone and never have sex with them.

Sex is an act of passion. Passion does not just derive from love. Passion can derive from anger or hate just as much as love. Hatred can have just as much passion in it as love, and it can be expressed just as physically.

And sex isn't always gentle. Sex isn't always kind. Sex isn't always "making love". It can be rough. It can be a battle. It can be many, many things.

Sex is a physical act. The emotion behind that act isn't always love. Heck, sometimes there is no emotion at all. Sometimes sex is just the relief of a physical urge.

Or, in short, sex means different things to different people, so shush confused not-understanding-foeyay-people. You are silly.

I think it's because we call sex so many confusing things like "making love" or "sleeping together". Sleeping together is even more confusing, because than it implies you shared a bed afterward. But what if you had against the wall in a dark alley sex? Were you "awake together"? Maybe that's my messed up brain speaking, but "sleeping together" as a phrase makes no sense.

i think that "sleeping together" only works in particular contexts. Like, if a couple is regularly going around to each other's houses in order to have sex then spend the night over, that would be "sleeping together" to me. "against the wall in a dark alley" sex wouldn't be "sleeping together" because it's a different context.

Euphemisms are silly. Why can't we just say "fuck buddies"? XD

Hence my unadulterated PASSION for Sherlock/Donovan! Hate!sex shippers UNITE! FIGHT THE SCHMOOP! (Finally, the perfect comment to use this Icon for.)

And an excuse to use this icon. I like the fluff, but at the end of the day, it's all about the hate!sex.

Part of me wants to start comm devoted to hate!sex and FoeYay, but all my other adventures in Community Organizing have basically turned out to be ideas that really awesome to me and a co-mod, but
ended up being rather less popular than I had hoped.

Maybe a Foeyay month. We do have a need for Sherlock/Moriarty. BBC series as well as Game of Shadows as well as any Sherlock Holmes canon in general.

unnnnffffff foeyay. One of my very favoritest things.

On the other hand, it annoys me when people write a foeyay ship OOC so they really *are* picking out china patterns.

Ok, Clearly you get it. (Don't worry, I just waltzed onto LJ for the first time in forever, hence replying to such an old post).

I completely agree with Horrible/Hammer. I've shipped that for years. I don't so much ship Holmes/Moriarty, but I do believe in BBC world Jim is just itching to have his way with Sherlock. Really, he does NOTHING what so ever to hide his complete obsession. In face, he's really rather obvious. I have Shippped Doctor/Master from the moment I was introduced to John Simm. That particular ship has Writer AND BOTH ACTORS behind it. Pertwee era viewings only furthered this particular ship, and while I really don't care much for Roberts, Ainley has his own twisted manor of affection as well. (I read one fic where Ten went back in time to bitch out Three for his poor treatment of Delgado!Master. Because if Three had ANY idea what a jerkass he would turn into, maybe he would have just hooked up while they were being cordial.) Charles/Erik is CANON. That's all I will say about that. Really, so in pretty much every fandom I'm in I have foeyay.

Glad to see someone else getting it.
